The text you type into the Word Counter never leaves your browser. There is no server-side storage, no account, and no upload — counting happens locally, and drafts are saved to your device only, using IndexedDB.
We do use Google Analytics to understand traffic, and — if enabled — Google-served advertising to keep the tools free. Both involve cookies from Google, described below.
We do not require an account, and we do not transmit, store, or have access to the text you write, count, or save as a draft. Drafts and version history are stored entirely in your browser’s IndexedDB and are never sent to us or to any third party.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage — pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors between sessions.
This data is used only to understand how the site is used and cannot be used to identify you personally. See Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy for details on how Google processes this data.
LocalBench is free to use and may display advertising served by Google AdSense to support that. If ads are active on a given page, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or via www.aboutads.info/choices. Visitors in the UK, EEA, and Switzerland will be asked for consent before any personalized-advertising cookies are set.
Aside from the Google Analytics and (where active) Google AdSense cookies described above, LocalBench does not set its own cookies. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; doing so will not affect the word counter’s core functionality, since it does not depend on cookies to work.
LocalBench is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
